Neon decorations at Monster Mini Golf Bellevue.

Situated right across the water from Seattle, Bellevue, WA, is home to a wide range of fun attractions that parents can experience with their children. From gorgeous parks to awesome downtown activities, there’s plenty to explore. Take a look at these must-see attractions for the whole family in Bellevue!

Monster Mini Golf

Despite its name, Monster Mini Golf isn’t just golf; this exciting location also features a bowling alley, a virtual reality arcade, a traditional arcade, and a laser maze, which will make you feel like you’re in a heist movie. You can head in with your family and enjoy the games on a whim or reserve your space for your kid’s birthday party

As for the mini golf, this unique glow-in-the-dark course deserves a top spot on your list of indoor things to do with kids.

KidsQuest Children’s Museum

The KidsQuest interactive children’s museum focuses on STEAM (That’s science, technology, engineering, art, and math). There are 25 exhibits created with children aged 10 and younger in mind, but the entire family will have a blast at this museum.

The exhibits include an Art Studio where kids and grown-ups alike can hone their visual arts skills with paintings, sculptures, drawings, on-site fired ceramics, and more. There’s also the two-story Atrium Climber, which is a great way for kids to learn how to explore and climb safely. And that’s just the beginning!

There’s also the Bellevue Mercantile, Learning Lab, Connections Gallery, Story Tree, and more, all of which are entertaining yet teach important concepts and refine motor function. If you’re trying to find indoor things to do with kids that will get them up and burn energy, KidsQuest is a great choice.

Bellevue Botanical Garden

For kids who love to explore, there are few better places than the Bellevue Botanical Garden. The gardens provide adult and family tours, as well as youth tours aimed at kids aged 3 to 13.

You’ll find beautiful sights and interactive elements at this location, including the Ravine Bridge, which is a 150-foot suspension bridge that gives incredible views of the forest below. There’s also the Hobbit Door, which looks like it was plucked straight out of Lord of the Rings!

Kids will also love seeing the wildlife, particularly the many birds that frequent the gardens. If you’ve never seen a hummingbird feeding up close, head to Bird Loop! Don’t forget to see the stunning waterfall, too.

Inspiration Playground

Of the many things to do with kids in Bellevue, Inspiration Playground is the one that will make you feel like you’ve stepped into a Dr. Seuss book. The moment you walk into the park, you’ll notice the Wisdom Tree sculpture with its looping metal branches.

All of the activities are nature-themed and include innovative features such as the Wavy Walk with Vine Tunnel and the Free Spirit Water Play Area, which has rock tunnels and a cool, realistic waterfall.

There are plenty of traditional playground features, such as swings and slides in the Whimsy Play Area and Imagination Station Play Area. However, the features that make it perfect for spending the day are the picnic areas. If you want to spread a blanket on the turf, head to the picnic area with game tables.

Kids’ Cove at Bellevue Square

Bellevue Square is a huge shopping mall that’s an attraction all on its own, but it also features a unique location that’s one of the most memorable indoor things to do with kids in Bellevue. Kids’ Cove, which is on the third floor of this mall, is a pirate paradise. It’s all nautical-themed and has a lighthouse, boats, and bridges.

There are plenty of kid-friendly eateries and dessert locations nearby as well, such as Auntie Anne’s, Ben & Jerry’s, and the Lolli and Pops candy store.

Bellevue Zip Tour

As long as your kids are over the age of 8 and weigh more than 60 pounds, they can experience a Bellevue Zip Tour. The seven zip lines are set up over a maple and Douglas fir forest and stretch up to 458 feet long. Even though zipliners can get up to around 35 mph, it’s slow enough that you’ll be able to take in all the gorgeous scenery.

Don’t forget that a little prep goes a long way! Riding a zip line requires durable gloves, close-toed shoes, shirts that cover the shoulder, and shorts that go to the knee. Sunglasses are recommended, as is bug spray. And you can even bring your camera to the course!

Skate Parks

If your family loves skating, you’re going to love Bellevue! There are four indoor skate facilities in Bellevue, with the biggest one being the Bellevue Indoor Skate Park. The park offers membership and lessons, or you can just head in with your board and enjoy all the ramps, banks, and quarter pipes they have to offer.

There are also three outdoor skate parks. Highland Outdoor Skate Park has 13,000 square feet, featuring recreations of world-famous street skate locations with many commonplace features, such as stairs, benches, and rails.

Crossroads Park Skate Bowl was built by Grindline to be the ultimate bowl, ranging from four to nine feet deep. Lakemont Park Skate Bowl is smaller but has cool features such as a wall ride, a pyramid, and a bunch of ledges.

Kelsey Creek Farm

Kelsey Creek Farm Park is a popular destination for families, with its playground equipment, jogging trails, beautiful forest, and plenty of picnic spots. But it’s the Kelsey Creek Farm itself that makes this unique location one of the top things to do with kids in Bellevue.

You and your children can get up close and personal with different kinds of animals, including:

  • Chickens
  • Cows
  • Ducks
  • Goats
  • Rabbits
  • Ponies
  • Sheep
  • Pigs

The farm does offer summer camps for kids aged 4 to 18, but you can make it a family activity, of course. There are also winter-specific programs and activities, such as Farm Explorers, which teaches kids how to care for farm animals and offers an opportunity for pony rides.

Regal Crossroads Cinemas

Sometimes, you just want to sit back and watch a good movie. Regal Crossroads Cinemas has the big, comfy chairs you’d want for a 2+ hour movie with the kids, and they are constantly showing older movies perfect for the family, such as Shrek, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle. You can even reserve your seats in advance!

K1 Speed

Do your kids have the need for speed? Get them into the electric racing go-karts at K1 Speed. This location is just a five-minute drive north of the Regal Crossroads Cinemas.

It’s all indoors and features a twisty, exciting track that’s about a quarter mile in total length. They track lap times, too, which means you can see how you stack up against other racers.

Since it’s indoors — and no one wants to breathe exhaust fumes — the karts are all electric and have fantastic power. Kids between 4’ and 4’9” are Junior Racers, which means they can drive Junior karts that go up to 20 mph.

Adult and teen racers who are 4’10” or more can drive the regular carts, which top out at 45 mph. Races last up to 12 laps, and you can book groups and parties.
