Mini Bowling Maximizes the Fun for Everyone

Mini bowling may be smaller than regular bowling lanes, but it delivers double the fun. When you bowl at Monster Mini Golf in Gastonia, you’ll bowl on glow-in-the-dark lanes. You don’t have to worry about being an expert bowler because it’s easier to aim on a lane that’s half the length. Plus, it’s easier to aim and throw the smaller bowling balls.

Family-Friendly

The shorter lanes and smaller balls make it easier for kids to learn to bowl and knock down pins. Plus, kids love our glow-in-the-dark alley, and you can add to the fun by wearing colors like fluorescent green, orange, yellow, and pink, which will glow in our alley.

Great for Dates

Whether taking your spouse on a date or planning a first date with someone new, mini bowling is a fantastic option. The glow-in-the-dark bowling alley sets the atmosphere, putting you at ease, so you’re ready to have fun.

Although you’re playing a game, you don’t have to be competitive. You can bowl against yourself instead of other bowlers. Plus, anyone unfamiliar with bowling will find it easier to learn on shorter lanes.

Fantastic for Friends and Co-workers

Mini bowling is the perfect option whether you want to unwind with friends or get to know your co-workers. Our mini lanes and smaller balls make mini bowling a low-impact activity that provides plenty of opportunities for chatting with other players while bowling.

Gastonia Bowling alley faq

Mini bowling has the same objectives as 10-pin bowling. You aim to roll the bowling ball down the lane and knock down all 10 pins. Players get to throw three balls each turn. You may get some scoring bonuses if you knock down all the pins.

Bowling Terms

You score a strike if you knock down all 10 pins on your first throw.

You score a spare if you knock down all 10 pins in two throws.

If you score a double, you have two strikes in a row.

If you score a turkey, it means you got three strikes in a row.

Sometimes, when you knock down pins, they aren’t cleared before you throw your next ball. These pins are called deadwood.

If you knock down all the pins in the middle and only have the two outside pins left, it’s called a split.

Rules

You must not go over the foul line when releasing the ball. Any score earned from that throw does not count.

Scoring

Automated scoring keeps things simple, but it helps to know the scoring rules so nobody is confused.

When a player gets a strike, the points from their next two throws are counted twice. So when the player takes their next turn, their first two throws will count toward their previous and current frames.

If you get a spare, your following throw counts toward your current and previous frames.

If you score a double, you’ll earn 20 points for the original frame where you got a strike. You’ll earn 30 points for the original frame if you score a turkey.

Our glow-in-the-dark bowling alley is second to none. Imagine a regular bowling alley. Now, picture each lane being half the length and each ball being about half the size of a regular 10-pin bowling ball, closer to the size of a candlepin or duckpin bowling ball. That’s what you get with mini bowling.

Monster Mini Golf in Gastonia offers a scaled-down version of the original game of 10-pin bowling. It consists of bowling lanes raised 15 inches off the floor (making it easy on the back) with smaller pins and lighter bowling balls. These features make it great for children and adults alike.

Games last about four minutes on average per person, making swiping your game card for another round easy.

Our mini bowling pricing is only $5.00 for five frames. You can easily refill your arcade game card as well to keep the fun going for as long as you’d like.

Here at Monster Mini Golf, we also combine our attractions to provide you with the best deals, so you can mix and match with attractions like bowling and the arcade:
